The basics

What is Habitome?

An independent home health testing company. We test your home’s air and water, then give you a clear report and a plan to fix what matters.

What do PFAS, VOCs and PM2.5 mean?

They’re the scientific names for things you may have heard about. PFAS are “forever chemicals” found in tap water. VOCs are chemical fumes from things like paint, new furniture and cleaners. PM2.5 is fine dust and smoke, often from cooking. CO₂ tells us how stale the air is. Your report explains each one in plain English.

Why not just buy an air monitor or a DIY kit?

Home monitors are useful, but most can’t identify specific chemical fumes, and none test your water. We combine professional meters, certified labs and five days of monitoring, then tell you what it all means and what to do.

Do you sell filters, purifiers or remediation?

No. We don’t sell products or repairs, and contractors never pay us. That keeps our results independent.

Is this medical advice?

No. We measure your home and compare results with published benchmarks. We don’t diagnose or treat anything. You’re welcome to share your report with your doctor.

Testing

Do you test for mold?

No. Florida requires a licensed mold assessor to sample for or assess mold. We record humidity and note damp or musty conditions, and refer you to a licensed assessor if we see signs of a moisture problem.

Do you test for radon or EMF?

Radon testing in Florida needs a state-certified tester, so we refer it out. We don’t test EMF because the science doesn’t support health claims at household levels.

How long is the visit?

Check: 1.5–2 hrs. Whole Home: 2.5–3 hrs. Premium: 3.5–4 hrs. An adult needs to be home, and you’ll cook briefly for the gas stove test.

Is it safe for kids and pets?

Yes. Testing is non-invasive. Nothing is opened, cut or drilled.

Who comes to my home?

A trained Habitome field specialist who follows our documented testing protocol.

Where do my samples go?

To accredited laboratories. Lab fees are included in your plan price.

Why is microplastics an add-on?

The test is expensive and the health research is still early. No official safe limit exists yet. It’s most useful for checking that a filter works.

Results and fixes

What’s in the report?

What we found in each room and in your water, what’s fine, what isn’t, and a list of fixes ranked by what matters most, with free ones first.

When do I get results?

Once the lab results and monitor data are in. We’ll give you an expected date at your visit.

What if you find a problem?

Most fixes are simple: the right filter, a range hood that vents outside, more fresh air at night. If you want help, we’ll line up vetted contractors and review their quotes for a flat $395. You pay contractors directly.

Can you confirm a fix worked?

Yes. Premium includes a re-test visit. On other plans we can re-test the items that changed.

Who sees my results?

Only you, unless you choose to share them. We never sell your data.

Booking and area

Where are you launching?

Tampa Bay & Southwest Florida: Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee and Collier counties. We’ll open first where the waitlist is longest.

When can I book?

We’re opening area by area. Join the waitlist with your ZIP and we’ll email you when booking opens near you.

Does the waitlist cost anything?

No. No payment, no commitment. Unsubscribe anytime.

I rent. Can I still get tested?

Yes. Testing is non-invasive, and many fixes, like filters and habit changes, work for renters.

Is this useful when buying a home?

Yes. Standard home inspections don’t cover water quality or indoor air. Testing around move-in tells you what to fix while the home is empty.
